Wonderful Day

I had a very special Mother's Day hike! We headed up to Franklin Falls (about one hour from Seattle) Who knew there would be snow? The kids were so excited! We didn't make all the way to the waterfall, but thankfully there was a smaller waterfall about 1/2 of the way on the one mile trek. We took some pictures and headed back with lots of fun slides in the snow. I was so glad that we could be out in the great outdoors today! It felt quite redeeming of our snow-less winter months when Luca was in a cast too. What a gift! Thanks to John for the pumpkin pancakes and for making it such a special day. Luca's quote, "it is good to be a kid on Mother's Day...so you don't have to fly on an airplane to spend the day with your mom." Luca got be the biggest Mother's Day balloon ever and they all got me beautiful yellow roses! I feel very loved!

I do wish that John and I could be with our moms and give them great big hugs!! We love you!!! Thanks for your endless love and care for us! We are so thankful for you! We will get to see you both later this month...yay!

"itches"

Well as Juliette would say Luca got "itches". He fell at Boren school at recess, tripped on a root and split his chin on the concrete. John thankfully was home this last Wednesday (week ago today) and picked Luca up from school and took him to Children's ER where he got seven stitches. Luca was such a champ. They stopped by my work on the way home from the hospital and I said to Luca. "I am so impressed with you Luca and how brave you were going to the hospital." Luca said "I was impressed with myself too"!
He is doing fine, just get shy at every new social situation since the stitches and wants me to tell everyone what happened...I guess you can consider yourself told;)
